The Organizing Committee of the 3rd International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO 2026) is pleased to officially announce the opening of participation for the upcoming Olympiad, which will take place from December 6–12, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan.

As a premier international competition in nanotechnology innovation, INO brings together outstanding university students from around the world to develop and present cutting-edge nanotechnology-based solutions to pressing global challenges. The theme of the 2026 Olympiad is “Nano-biotechnology and Health.”

The competition provides a unique platform for young innovators to demonstrate their scientific excellence, entrepreneurial thinking, and technological creativity through interdisciplinary projects with real-world impact.

Each participating country may nominate one official team, consisting of:

• Up to four university students;

• One supervising professor; and

• Up to one international jury member.

Teams must be officially nominated by a recognized and credible institution in their respective country.

Submitted proposals must be aligned with the Olympiad theme and demonstrate:

• Technology Readiness Level (TRL) greater than 3; and

• Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) equal to or greater than 1.

Participants will be required to present both the scientific and technological aspects of their projects as well as a business model proposal. A 4-minute pitch video must be included as part of the submission package. Physical prototypes or functional demonstrations are highly encouraged.

To facilitate international participation, the host country, Taiwan, will provide fully funded hospitality for all official participants, including accommodation, meals, local transportation, and cultural activities for seven days and six nights. Support will be provided for up to six delegates from each participating country.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams. Details regarding the prize structure will be announced at a later stage.

Interested countries and institutions are invited to review the competition guidelines, complete the Official Registration Form, and submit all required materials through the official registration portal by September 15, 2026.
